Coming this week

Track and Field Final Meet – Wednesday, May 23, 2018 @ Point Grey Secondary

Junior (Grades 4/5) meet is from 8:30-12:30pm so athletes will need to be dropped off at Point Grey at 8:15 (look for the Trafalgar flag and tent). Athletes are responsible for their own rides to and from the meet. When leaving the meet to return to Trafalgar please sign out with Trafalgar staff and submit jersey before you leave. Please dress for the weather and bring water and sunscreen.

Senior (Grades 6/7) meet is from 1:00pm until 3:30pm so athletes will need to meet at the gym at 12:10 to sign out and organize rides. Upon arrival to Point Grey look for Trafalgar flag and tent. Athletes are to be picked up from Point Grey between 3:15-3:30 – please sign out with Trafalgar staff and submit jersey before you leave. Please dress for the weather and bring water and sunscreen.

UNESCO Soirée – Thursday May 24 (5:00 pm-7:00 pm)

Several classes from Trafalgar School will showcase their UNESCO related work. Their projects will be displayed in the gym and the activity room. Come and see! Some topics include climate change, rising sea levels, local agriculture and food security, and children’s rights. We look forward to seeing you at our soiree!

Thank you – Fantasy baskets

Thank you so much to all those who participated and made these fantasy baskets the best ones yet! Together we raised close to $2875 for new technology. A special thanks to the class parents who collected money and put the baskets together. Congratulations to the winners!

PAC AGM – June 5th

Our PAC AGM will be held on June 5th at 7pm in the library. This will be the final meeting of the year. Our agenda includes voting in PAC executive members, voting on bylaw changes, hearing the Chair’s and Treasurer’s reports, reviewing the end of year financials, and discussing the 2018/19 budget. Babysitting will available. Please forward any nominations for Chair, Treasurer or secretary 2018/19 to info@trafalgarpac.ca.

Calling all volunteers (and potential volunteers!)

Trafalgar is incredibly fortunate to have an amazing group of dedicated, talented parents who donate their time to making our school extra special. Come join us! It’s a wonderful way to connect with  parents and children in our community.

We have a few coordinator positions to fill for next year. I will be sending some out over the next month.

The first 2 are:

  •  Parent Education coordinators- these 2 people connect with other school coordinators at the beginning of the year (relationships already established) and are responsible for one parent event in the 2018/19. Approximately 10 hours total.
  • Teacher Appreciation coordinators- these 2 people organize two teacher appreciation recesses throughout the year. Approximately 5 hours total.
