The Trafalgar school band and choir will have a joint evening concert on June 19 (Tuesday7-8pm

Is your child interested in joining Trafalgar’s school band next year?

Students who are in Grs. 4 – 6 currently will be eligible to play in the Trafalgar School Band in September. We will have a beginning band and a Senior Band, each meeting 2 mornings a week before school. This year’s band was a huge success, and we are now planning for next school year. You’ll hear the Trafalgar Band at a school assembly on Monday, and our final concert with the choirs on Tuesday evening.

We are having a special meeting on Wednesday, June 20th for interested families who have a new student joining band next year. There are many instruments available for students to choose, but it makes a huge difference if the student chooses an instrument that is well-suited to their own face/lips/body etc. Our Band teachers, Michelle Anderson and Erin Marks, have arranged to have a full set of instruments from Tapestry Music available for the students to try out next Wednesday. We would like all interested band students to make a short appointment (about 15 minutes) ideally with a parent present, to come and try things out thoroughly. Together, the teachers and students will decide what instruments work best, and what the student likes best. Planning now guarantees your spot in the band, and also allows you to choose the best available instruments. This meeting doesn’t commit you to band, but hopefully you will know after this meeting whether or not you do want to commit to joining next year. We want to meet the families and give you full details about the Trafalgar Band.

Please choose an appointment time either Wednesday before or after school by visiting this webpage by Tuesday at 4:00 pm: www.trafalgarschoolband.ca

Please help us plan our program by attending this meeting, or contacting us to register.

Can you believe it?? It’s almost time for our Year End Party!

The year end party will be in full swing on Wednesday, June 27th from 3:30 to 6:00pm. Celebrate the end of the school year with other Trafalgar families. Bring a picnic dinner or buy dinner from the White Spot food truck, an ice cream truck, while enjoying live music, a photo booth, many games and even Granville island’s famous bubble blower! This event happens rain or shine. No tickets required. Please note: the school and/or PAC are not responsible for the care of the students at this event. Parents are responsible for the supervision of their own children.
