Developmental Disabilities Clothing Drive

Thursday, February 14th – Friday, February 22nd

This is an easy and simple way for us to raise money for the Grade 7 Quebec Exchange. The Developmental Disabilities Trust offers us the opportunity to raise funds by collecting used clothing, purses, sewing materials, towels, bedspreads, shoes. They will also include toys, games, knick knacks, and small household items, to a maximum of 20%. We challenge each household to drop off at least a bag each! Flyer and more information

Feb 15th pro-D day ideas – Vancouver Secondary Schools Athletic Association

VSSAA puts on affordable pro-D camps at schools around the Lower Mainland, including badminton, volleyball and basketball. Trafalgar is hosting the basketball session this pro-D day. Feb 15, Grades 3 – 4          9:00 – 11:30 am   & 12:00 – 2:30 pm at Trafalgar.

How to register for this session (or other sports):

Please visit the VSSAA website which is www.vancouverschoolsports.ca – the Pro-D clinics and camps can be found under the SPECIAL EVENTS TAB on the top of the home page.  Under each of the sport headings there is a brief description of the camp.  Click on the REGISTER TAB to be taken to then to the online registration section – a family account will need to be created and then add the athlete information to your account prior to registering for the clinic or camp of your choice.

Save the date – Feb 13th – Valentine’s Bake Sale

Need a little sweetness in your life? Well we’ve got the thing for you!The grade 4 French immersion students will be having a bake sale on Wednesday, February 13th at 3pm. All proceeds will go to help send the students to Camp Jubilee.There will be ready to eat items, as well as packaged goodies and gifts for your valentine.The bake sale will be set up in front of the school.

Save the Date – Mural Project Community Paint Night – March 5

The students are in the midst of the collage stage of our school mural project based on their vision of a UNESCO-themed utopian landscape. Once the collage is completed by the students, Paintillio will photograph the original mural and digitally print it into a paint by number mural, which will be 35 ft. long  covering the wall by the main entrance. After the students have started painting it in February, we will be hosting a community paint night for teachers, parents and caregivers to help us finish painting it. Save the date of Tuesday, March 5 from 3-7 PM and join us for some snacks and painting fun with your kids. More details coming soon.
Mural Unveiling & School Song Ceremony – March 7
On March 7 at 2 PM, there will be a mural unveiling ceremony with a slideshow and a performance of our new school song, “Trafalgar HOWL,” written by our students in collaboration with musician Will Stroet from Will’s Jams

Volunteer needed to do parent updates

We need a volunteer to post this update on a weekly basis. We use WordPress and Mailchimp to update our website and send this update out — we can definitely provide training. We really need a new volunteer to take on this activity! (PS: This activity can be done at odd hours, so it’s ideal for those with other commitments.) Contact info@trafalgarpac.ca
