Community Mural Paint Night with Paintillio March 5 from 3-7 PM
Our school-wide mural project is almost complete. Artists Jess and Lyssa of Paintillio just finished their last workshops with our students this past week and the paint-by-number mural is up in front of the hallway near the main entrance! We can’t wait to see you and your kids at our Community Paint Night to help finish painting this 35-foot mural, which will be an amazing legacy for our school. Come drop in anytime during these hours to paint a section of the mural, learn more about Paintillio and see a photo slideshow documenting all the fascinating stages of this student-led collaborative art project. If you’re bringing younger siblings, you may want to dress them in an old t-shirt. There will be decoy canvases for them to paint on in the gym! More information here.
Volunteers Needed for Paint Night We would love to have some volunteers to help out that night! If you can spare an hour between 3-7 PM to help staff a paint station in the gym or clean brushes at the end, we’d love your help. Click here for the Volunteer Sign Up sheet.
Mural Unveiling Ceremony and Trafalgar HOWL School Song Performance March 7 at 2 PM
Parents are invited to join our school’s official mural unveiling ceremony at our next school assembly. We’ll be showing a student-produced slideshow highlighting this unique art project. Artists Jess and Lyssa from Paintillio along with some students will share their reflections on the process. Come see JUNO-nominated children’s musician Will Stroet of Will’s Jams who will lead our students, teachers (and you all!) in singing our new school song, Trafalgar HOWL, collaboratively written by Will and four home rooms- Mme. Anne-Marie, Mme. Hoppen, Mrs. Goodison, and Mr. Fleming’s class.
Hot Lunch Coordinator needed!
Do you want to see happy kids when they receive their hot lunch? Do you want to have a say in what is to be of the menu? Do you like the Hot Lunch program and would hate to see it go?
We are currently looking for 1-2 volunteers to be the Hot Lunch Coordinators . Duties include: ordering hot lunch from our vendors every week, attending the hot lunch days at the school, communicating with the vendors, creating the menu and inputting it into the Munchalunch website. Collectively, the duties takes about 2-3 hours a week and they can be divided between 2 hot lunch coordinators. If you’re interested in becoming the Hot Lunch Coordinator or have any questions about the Hot Lunch program, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
