Update! – French Immersion Kindergarten Intake

NOTE: A dedicated mailing list has been created to send detailed updates on this issue for those concerned: Sign up HERE
A menu item HERE on the PAC website has been created to host all updates on this important issue for those concerned.

At our recent parent meeting, we shared information regarding the upcoming removal of French immersion kindergarten spaces, both at our school and at other schools in the Vancouver district.  Having already engaged in a round of letter writing to the Vancouver School Board (VSB), we knew that parents were passionate about this issue.  Our meeting reaffirmed our willingness to take action as we discussed what actions we would take. Several key advisors such as DPAC and CPF (Canadian Parents for French) representatives were invited and present at the meeting.

The meeting closed with the identification of several action items. This included another round of letter writing to the impacted ridings’ MLAs and arranging meetings with MLAs and several VSB decision makers.

What you can do now:

Stay informed: Please join our dedicated mailing list HERE It is important to have a network of engaged parents in place when we are ready to write letters to MLAs, to meet with various decision makers and to share our story and updates within our own networks. Please also talk to ourPAC members to make sure you understand the details of what is happening at your school and why it is happening.
