Make sure not to miss the first annual Trafalgar Year End Party – Canada 150 theme!  It will be held Wednesday, June 28th from 4-6pm outside at the front of the school.
The fun includes a grilled cheese truck (accepts visa and cash) and an ice cream truck (accepts cash only), both include gluten-free options (and dairy-free ice cream!), then dance off those calories to the music of Alex Maher under the trees and lanterns.  The night will be remembered with a photo booth on site to get a keepsake of another great school year. There will also be a school-wide Canada 150 scavenger hunt for all ages.
This event will be a great opportunity to connect with your school community and kick off summer with a bang!  Wear your red and whites and join us for a sunny, celebratory evening!

Keep Those Letters Coming! French Immersion Kindergarten Intake

Dear Parents

As you know, our school is faced with losing a FI kindergarten class next year.
In the last month, we asked parents to write the school board to voice their concerns about this cut.
This direct action has lead to frank discussions with the Vancouver school board where they have stated their support for French immersion and their hope for eventual restoration of the classes — “to make this right” in the trustees words. If you would like to read about the situation and what has happened so far in detail, a main menu of the PAC website has been dedicated to this content:
We need to continue to speak out to ensure that:
  • The VSB keeps their commitment to French education and makes best efforts to restore our kindergarten class for 2017-2018
  • The provincial government ensures sufficient funding for schools in light of the Supreme Court ruling and the evolving needs of our district
The PAC is asking that you please write the VSB and your MLA if you haven’t done so already.
Personal letters to the board and MLAs are most effective.  We have letters written up that can be used as a base linked below, but please feel free write your own with your own thoughts, situation, feelings, etc.
Write the VSB trustee and acting superintendent ( and  Our VSB template letter is here.
Write your MLA and the leader of their party.  Our MLA template letter is here.  Some local MLA contact information is below.  Make sure to write to your MLA.

Thank you,
Gord Lau
