Trafalgar teachers and the PAC are very excited to be working together to hold a Carnaval / Spirit Week for all Trafalgar students.
Carnaval / Spirit Week will take place February 27– March 2. It will be a week of activities and events that both reflect our Québecois heritage as well as infuse the mid-winter month of February with some fun (and celebrate the leap year!).
The schedule for the week is as follows:
Monday, 27 February
–       Everyone is encouraged to wear a tuque and/or scarf
–       Festival du Bois presentation to French immersion intermediates
–       Kick-off assembly at 1:15 p.m. Parents are welcome to join us. It will be an afternoon of French songs, student presentations and more! Details to come closer to the date (but expect a fun event with a very special visitor!).
Tuesday, 28 February
–       All students will be treated to a tire d’érable with the Maple Sugar Shack. Each class will roll hot maple syrup on snow and eat it like a lollipop!
Wednesday, 29 February
–       Anti-Bullying Day – Everyone is encouraged to wear pink
–       Vazzy en Nouvelle France performance at 2 p.m. for the whole school
Thursday, 01 March
–       Students will create special Carnaval-themed arts & crafts, including ice (soap) sculptures and woven belts.
Friday, 02 March
–       Traditional Québecois lunch (ordered through hot lunch forms)
–       Grade 7 French Immersion Movie Day Fundraiser (after school)
It will be a wonderful week of activities and events. Joyeux Carnaval and Happy Spirit Week!
