Halloween is right around the corner, which means Trafalgar’s popular Monster Ball is too! The Monsters Ball takes place on Friday, October 30th
. Come dressed as your favourite Halloween ghoul! There will be crafts, music, games, and the best haunted house on the Westside! Festivities run from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. No need to make
supper! There will be pizza, hot dogs, milk, coffee and tea. Tickets are on sale before and after school, for $5 each, or $12 for a family in the school’s main lobby
. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Parent volunteers are still needed
to run the fun and games. Please sign up for a 45 minute shift to sell tickets, supervise a craft or run an activity and make it a great night for the kids! We will also be holding a cake raffle and require volunteers to bake cakes. Click here to sign up for a volunteer position.
The 2015 Pumpkin Patch was a grand success and a record amount of money was raised! Thank you to school parent Marty Pospischil and his real estate team for helping to organize this great event! Thank you also to all families and volunteers who came out to sponsor the event. Almost 400 pumpkins were sold and lots of popcorn, cupcakes, chocolate milk and Halloween toys and stickers went as well. $3,360.20 was raised which will be split between the BC Cancer Society and the Trafalgar PAC. Time for Play Direct Appeal Campaign Ends October 30th
A reminder the Time for Play Direct Appeal Campaign ends October 30th. A big thank-you to everyone who has supported the campaign so far! Since June we have been raising money for the school playground replacement and enrichment programs. Over half of our Trafalgar families have contributed to Direct Appeal and we’re getting close to reaching our goal. Thank you so much for generosity! If you haven’t already done so, please consider making a donation to the campaign to support our students. While our goal is to raise $250 per student, any amount helps our children. The campaign ends on October 30th. To find out what your donation will support and to access donation forms, see the notice sent home in your child’s agenda or click here. Hi Parents! Now that back-to-school routines are established, it is clear that traffic safety during pick up and drop off must be addressed. Traffic jammed streets, illegally parked cars and children crossing safely are some of the issues to address. We’re asking for parents who are interested in seeing this improve to email Aaron Gladders (email@example.com
). Ideas, suggestions, complaints are all appreciated at this point.
Most importantly, we want to hear from parents who want to see this improve so we can set up a long-term plan. Some current ideas are different drop off areas per grade, traffic cones and signs, parking enforcement when needed and police presence. Other schools have dealt with this successfully and positively and we can too.
Thanks and we look forward to hearing your thoughts,
