Happy heart day Trafalgar families! We hope everyone had a wonderful Family Day long weekend and we LOVE to have you back! Some classes will be celebrating Valentine’s Day by exchanging valentines or sharing class treats. Please remember the school is a nut-free zone when sending treats to school for special events. Spring Festival Costume Gala & Lion Dance
Friday February 17th 6 to 8 PM
Tickets, tickets, get your tickets here! Tickets for the Spring Festival are on sale now before and after school under the lanterns in the school’s main entrance. Tickets are $5 per person or $15 per family. Parents interested in volunteering at this fun event, are invited to contact firstname.lastname@example.org
This year’s theme is anime (Japanese for “animation”). Kids and kids-at-heart are invited to dress up as their favourite animation characters or in multicultural dress. Attendees in costume can enter their name for a prize draw. No need to cook the night of the festival! The menu includes California rolls, spring rolls, hot dogs, fresh, hot popcorn and sweet treats. Come enjoy tasty food, fun games and a whole new line-up of the school community’s talented performers while celebrating the year of the rooster! The full list of performers can be viewed here and the performance will be kicked off with a traditional lion dance at 7:00PM. All performers have been working hard to make sure the audience gets a very entertaining show, complete with a surprise guest!
Don’t miss it!
Grade 7 English Galiano Island Trip Fundraisers
The grade 7 English students have the opportunity to visit the Gulf Islands Film and Television school on Galiano Island in June.
To help fundraise, the students will be running a snack bar from now until spring break. The snack bar will be set up under the covered area at recess. Most items will cost one dollar. So you can now send the kids to school with a loonie or toonie and skip packing that recess snack!
The Grade Seven Film School Committee thanks Trafalgar families for their support!
Make Your Voice Heard!
The Vancouver DPAC (https://vancouverdpac.org/)is collecting feedback for meetings with the VSB and a potential meeting with the Minister of Education. Please let us know what you think on the following issues so that we can provide feedback on behalf of Trafalgar by completing this brief survey here. The survey must be completed by February 21st for feedback to be passed on to the Vancouver DPAC.
Safe Arrival Needs You!

If you have some time to spare after drop off, please contact Cherie, the safe arrival coordinator, at trafalgarsafearrival@gmail.
