Lace Up Those Runners! Sports Day is This Thursday – May 19th

Parents and guardians are reminded that Trafalgar’s Sports Day is this Thursday May 19th. Thank you to all those who volunteered to make this a fun-filled event for the students! There will be a water station provided on the grounds. Students are encouraged to bring their water bottles to fill up and hydrate. There will also be hot beverages and baking on sale for parents and guardians. Please follow this link for more information on the day’s schedule and detailed information.

Social Media Education and Awareness Session – May 18th

Social media and mobile communications have changed our world and the way our children communicate and socialize – are you keeping up with the changing technology? Are you comfortable parenting in the age of online communication?
The Kitsilano PAC is excited to have renowned social media expert and speaker Jesse Miller of Mediated Reality ( present to parents the realities facing youth as they become social media users. Jesse will discuss what kids are really doing on-line and how parents can help keep their children safe. Jesse’s presentation will be followed by a question and answer period. We welcome all Kitsilano parents and parents from surrounding schools to join us for this very important event.

Upcoming PAC Meetings – Guest Speaker: Zones of Regulation – May 25th

All parents and guardians are welcome to the Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) meetings. The May and upcoming June meeting will take place at 7:00 PM in the school library.

This meeting is very special because guest speaker, Bryce Recsky,VSB Behaviour Consultant, will be joining us to speak on self regulation and the zones of regulation program. One of the school’s goals this year was to implement the self-regulation program Zones of Regulation. Early in the year, staff and students began to work with Todd Schleyer, who is a STIBS (Short Term Intensive Behaviour Support) worker from VSB. Come out and learn more about this important initiative.

Prince of Wales Secondary – Parent Tours – May 26th 10:45 AM

Prince of Wales Secondary will be holding tours for parents and guardians. This is a chance to see the school in action. Parents, guardians and grandparents are all welcome. Please email to RSVP.
