Hip Hip Hooray! – Hot Lunch Ordering is Now Open!

Variety is the spice of life, which is why hot lunches are a great way to add healthy and tasty alternatives to your child’s lunches. So give your self a break, the kids a treat and help your PAC all in one shot. It’s a WIN, WIN, WIN situation! Not to mention nearly all prices have been reduced this year making hot lunch a more affordable option for our families.
Hot lunch ordering from September through January is now open! The first hot lunch is on September 30th, and the deadline to place orders is September 27th.

Did you know? Aside from the Direct Appeal campaign, Hot Lunch is the most significant revenue source for your PAC. Proceeds from Hot Lunch go to buying books for the library, physical education activities, technology, and more! Please help us support our children’s educational environment.
All the usual favourites are back and each one meets VSB health food guidelines. Choose from:
– pizza and mac ‘n cheese from Rocky Mountain Flatbread Company
– baked chicken samosas and vegetarian samosas from Choices Market on 16th Avenue
– spaghetti and meatballs, salads and fruit cups from FUEL Catering which specialises in healthy hot lunches
– and maki rolls are back! (California and cucumber rolls)

We need YOU! Meet the Teacher Night & Welcome Back BBQ – September 22nd

In the name of BBQ, we need YOU!

Please save the date for Trafalgar’s “Meet the Teacher Night” on September 22nd. This year a “Welcome Back BBQ” will be held after the classroom meetings. This will be a wonderful opportunity to meet and chat with other parents and your children’s’ teachers. A flyer with more information went out on Friday, so please check those backpacks for details.
We are still seeking parent/guardian volunteers to help with this event. If you are able to help set up,  grill, serve or help clean up, we greatly appreciate your time and contribution. Please contact info@trafalgarpac.ca with how you can help out and your contact details.

What to Do, What to Do? Noon Hour and After School Programs

Missed the deadlines to get the kiddos into a few extracurricular activities? We got you covered!

Want to add some fun to your child’s noon hour? No problem! Noon Hour programming will begin October 3rd and run until December 9th for grades 1-7.  We have a few old favourites and a couple of fun additions to our roster.  Course descriptions and registration information has gone home with children, so check those backpacks for details! Information will also be posted in the main foyer and a few of the instructors will be on-hand at the September 22nd BBQ for you to meet.  Registration opens on Friday, September 23rd at 7am, so stay tuned!

Camp Jubliee Fundraiser – Reusable Snack Bags

The Grade 4s will be selling reusable snack bags at the Back to School BBQ near the gymnasium entrance of the school’s main hallway. The snack bags are made in Canada and are $8 each. Please support Camp Jubliee and help reduce waste at our school all while keeping those lunch bags spick and span. First PAC Meeting of the Year – Tuesday September 27th – 7 PM

The first three PAC (Parent Advisory Committee) meeting of the year will be Tuesday September 27th. All PAC meetings are held in the school’s library and begin at 7PM. All parents and guardians are welcome. Please check the Events Page for future PAC meetings and other important dates and stay tuned for the meeting agenda.
