REMINDER – Communicating Student Learning- Reporting Pilot Project – Thursday November 30th

As shared in the last newsletter, Trafalgar School is participating in a district pilot project on a new
reporting system, along with other Vancouver schools and teachers. At Trafalgar School, we have
10 divisions participating in this pilot project: Divisions 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 15, 16, 17 and 18
We invite the parents of these 10 divisions to attend an information night here at Trafalgar on
Thursday, November 30 at 7:00 pm in our gym. The ten classroom teachers participating in
this pilot project, along with administration, will be presenting to parents what this new reporting
format entails, why we are moving in this direction and how we will communicate student learning
to parents. The goal is to have all classes throughout the VSB using this format in the next school
year, therefore we feel fortunate to have the opportunity to pilot it this year.

REMINDER – Extracurricular programs – After school programs and Noon hour programs – Winter registration

We are finalizing our lineup for after school programs this winter.  Information for Minecraft adventures, Python programming, Little Rembrandts and Lights Up have been added to our Winter 2017 extracurriculars page – alongside information for Sea Smart, Lego animation and Lego robotics.

Noon hour programs – Registration for the winter session of Noon Hour programs is Monday, December 4th and December 5th at 7am. It will take place over 2 days. More information to come in the flyer which will be sent home next week. We have some new exciting programs such as a voice class (think Glee!), two new science classes, and two Dolphin Kids classes.  It’s going to be a great session!  Look in backpacks! Your child should already have come home with a flyer.
