The Lord Kitchener Elementary School PAC has invited other local school PACs to attend a speaking event with Dr. Deborah MacNamara on “How do we equip our children for what lies ahead.”. The event is being held on Wednesday, Feb 26 from 7 – 8:30 pm at Lord Kitchener School:
How do we raise children who can bounce back from adversity and adapt to circumstances beyond their control? How do we prepare our kids for the unknown or for simply not getting their way? This informative presentation will explore the roots of resilience and provide insights into how parents can nurture this crucial trait in our children.
Dr. Deborah MacNamara is a clinical counsellor and educator and dynamic presenter who helps parents, teachers, and childcare professionals make sense of children and adolescents. She has more than 15 years experience as a private practitioner, teacher and counsellor in mental health, and as an educational speaker. She writes on a range of parenting issues and her work has been published in parenting magazines and newsletters across Canada. Deborah interned with Dr. Gordon Neufeld and is on faculty at the Neufeld Institute.
NOTE: While there is no admission fee for this event, the Kitchener PAC will be accepting donations to support our new school playground.
