A huge THANK YOU to Carrie Linegar for organizing another fabulous Monster’s Ball!! It’s huge job and it created hundreds of smiling faces on Friday night. It was the best one yet! Also a big thanks to Andrew Konetzka once again for constructing an amazing Haunted House. It is definitely a favourite and the Ball wouldn’t be the same without it. We also want to recognize all of the volunteers who helped with set up, crafts, cake raffle, games, food, tear down, etc. It was wonderful to meet some new volunteers!

Early bird pricing for Yearbooks– now on sale!
Don’t miss out on all the Trafalgar Elementary School memories! Take advantage of the early bird pricing and save $10 per book! This year we are happy to offer a hardcover option as well. Softcovers are $25 and hardcovers are $35. After Nov 16th the prices go up by $10. (All proceeds go to the PAC to help fund school initiatives.)
We are hoping to have another fantastic yearbook with fresh ideas as we have new members added to our committee this year. Please do your part by contributing photos to make it as inclusive and representative as possible as we cannot be at every event or function. (Some teachers do send in photos, but this is a PAC initiative and not a school run book so we cannot depend on them to send photos to us on top of their many other duties!) We still have some consent forms missing so expect to be contacted by one of our dedicated yearbook committee members if you didn’t fill out the form. We won’t be bothering you again next year (unless you have a younger child joining the school) as we have made the consents valid for the duration of your child’s stay at Trafalgar!
We really hope everyone will be in the book so it can be a keepsake for years to come. The kids love seeing all their friends, classmates, teachers and themselves in the book! Don’t let your child miss out on the fun of getting signatures and searching for friends in the yearbook. Last year we had 75% of the school buy a book. With your help, we can beat that number this year! Thank you in advance for helping make this yearbook a success!
Photos can be uploaded to: www.hjeshare.com or download the HJeShare app on apple or android so it is right there on your phone. Our school code is Trafalgar2019 (capital T and no space).
Purchasing yearbooks will be done online this year on the Herff Jones website. This will make it easier to track orders and best of all there is no Paypal fee! Go towww.yearbookordercenter.com and enter our school number (17379) to purchase a book. If you don’t have the number, you can also search our school by name. Just make sure to choose the Vancouver, BC one! Go now so you don’t miss the early bird savings!!

Hip Hop workshops begin this Wednesday, October 31st. More information on the final presentation day to come.
It’s Hallowe’en! Students can wear costumes to school on Wednesday. Please no masks that impede vision and no props that resemble weapons. The school asks that parents do not send candy to school after Halloween.
Coming up next week:
Pro-D day on Friday, November 9
Santa’s workshop is still a ways away (December 14th) but we’ve heard from many parents that they are purging and would like to pass their items along to us now. Yes! We are happy to collect items any time. When you want to drop items, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will arrange a meeting time to collect.
Communications volunteer needed (yes, that’s replacing me!) – looking for somebody to update the Trafalgar website (WordPress) and send out these weekly emails (we use Mailchimp). A great way to help out and better understand everything that is going on around the school. email@example.com if interested, can certainly train.
