The Big One Earthquake Drill – May 5th 2 – 3PM

A reminder a district-wide earthquake drill will be held on Thursday, May 5th at 2:00 pm. All students and staff will begin the practice in the classroom, by going under their desks and counting to 60 in unison. After the count, everyone will proceed outside to the gravel field. This is a district-wide drill and will take place rain or shine so students are asked  to dress for the day’s weather. Upon completion of the drill, students will re-enter the building and will be dismissed at the regular time.

Friday Popsicle Sales

The grade 4 classes would like to thank everyone who purchased a popsicle in support of Camp Jubilee. The fundraising activities for Camp Jubilee are now complete and the kids are off to camp the end of May and are all very excited. The grade 4’s raised a total of $2,088.50. Thank you very much to the Trafalgar community for your support!
Popsicle sales are here to stay and will continue until the end of the year in support of graduation festivities.

Social Media Education and Awareness Session – Wednesday May 18th

Social media and mobile communications have changed our world and the way our children communicate and socialize – are you keeping up with the changing technology? Are you comfortable parenting in the age of online communication?
The Kitsilano PAC is excited to have renowned social media expert and speaker Jesse Miller of Mediated Reality ( present to parents the realities facing youth as they become social media users; what kids are really doing on-line and how parents can help keep their children safe. Jesse’s presentation will be followed by a question and answer period. We welcome all Kitsilano parents and parents from surrounding schools to join us for this very important event.
