Dear Families/Caregivers of Trafalgar Students,
I hope this email finds you well and enjoying the pleasant weather we’ve been having.
After two years, we, the staff, are so pleased and excited to announce that there will be a Sports Day this year. Our Sports Day will be on Friday, June 10th. For some of our students, this will be their first Sports Day ever. Therefore, I would like to pass along the information below so that families can be prepared for a day of safety and fun for all!
This year’s theme is Earth’s Superheros.
Your child’s teacher will place your child in a team colour: Red/Orange = Sun; Blue = Water; Brown/Green = Earth; White/Grey = Wind. Please help your child dress in their team colour for that day. Some students even add costume elements to their clothing and that is totally fine to do but not necessary. Please send your child(ren) to school wearing sunscreen, running shoes and a hat.
There will be snacks and refreshments provided at break time. Snacks and refreshments are provided by PAC – thank you to our PAC!
This is a special day for our community and all families are invited to join in the fun and cheering with their children. Please send your child to school with a packed lunch, if you would like to eat lunch with your child(ren) on the school grounds, you are welcome to bring a picnic blanket to sit on the grass, away from the gravel field or playground areas. All picnic supplies and food must be cleaned up by the final lunch bell. No BBQ or cooking equipment are allowed.
From our experience, Sports Day takes a lot out the children; therefore, our formal school day will end at 2pm. If you can pick your child up at 2pm, please do so. For students who need to stay until 3:03pm, we will be hosting quiet time with a movie in the gym.
Thank you for your attention to this special message. Daniel and I would like to acknowledge and thank all the staff, student volunteers from Prince of Whales and Kitsilano Secondary, and parents who are coming together to make this day possible on such short notice.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to M Belanger or myself if you have any questions.
